Air Intake
March 28, 2008 on 8:59 pm | In AFE Filters, Offroad Accessories | No CommentsWhen on the trail you want something that is going to help get cold air to your engine and get more power out of it. That is when you put a cold air intake system on. These systems are not very expensive and can be installed quickly and with ease. Intakes will not give you a major increase in horsepower but they do add on average about 10-15 horsepower. While this does seem small it is noticeable and will help with other power upgrades you get. There are some setbacks to getting itake on your truck. One of them is the potential of water being sucked up through the tube and getting into your engine. Even though it takes more than just a few drops of water to do damage the threat is still there. The intake systems are very easy to maintain with all you having to do is clean the filter and tube and they will last a lifetime. There are a number of makers out there like K&N, Air raid, AFE and etc. K&N is a name that has been trusted for a number of years. So look into getting a intake system before you go on the trail next time.

Tires
March 20, 2008 on 9:01 pm | In Products, Tips & Tricks, Offroad Customization, Offroad Accessories | No CommentsWhen on the trail your going to need a good set of tires along with other things to make your trip successful. What you need to look at when getting tires for off roading is the tread. The more hardcore your off roading the more tread you need and the bigger your tread needs to be. If your not doing serious off roading then you dont need as big of tread. You want to make sure you tires are going to grip the ground that your going over and not give up on you. Off roading tires are not the type of tires you want to have just driving around town. They have more road noise than regular tires and they also will cut your gas mileage down. Make sure that your tires fit your car and are not to small or to tall depending on how big of a lift you have.
